Micro Coaching offers a fresh approach to guiding our clients through the challenges of today’s music landscape. With 100,000 new tracks landing on Spotify daily, standing out can feel insurmountable. Micro coaching keeps things simple, with frequent, targeted guidance that meets our artists where they are—eliminating the endless to-do lists.  It offers just what they need when they need it.

Micro-coaching is the practice of engaging in frequent, brief, targeted, in-workflow coaching conversations. We’re talking about bite-sized, short-burst encounters that typically last no more than 10 minutes. They are consistent, but not scheduled, scripted, or forced. Instead, they are informal, often impromptu, conversations that focus on the real-time needs of the individual, acknowledging the perishable nature of human engagement and the need for continuous connection.

Micro coaching is our new artist-support model designed to create real momentum in small, manageable bursts. It’s based on frequent, short, targeted sessions focusing on one priority at a time.

We’ve seen the pitfalls of feeling overwhelmed. Bestlaid plans often end up collecting dust because they’re just too daunting. Instead, this approach breaks everything down into bite-sized, achievable steps. We aim to empower you to make real progress, stay accountable, and avoid burnout—all while seeing tangible results supporting your music career goals.

Why Micro Coaching?

Macro thinking in music creates a trap. Chasing huge numbers on Spotify, YouTube, and TikTok has become the norm, but it’s not sustainable or impactful for every artist, and just because “they” say it’s the only way – we know that it’s NOT. Focusing on “going viral” or achieving millions of streams is not the model that every artist wants or needs. This approach can drain your energy, often yielding superficial results. Micro networking and Micro coaching is  personalized approach to help you build genuine connections and lasting progress, step by step.

How To Practice Micro Coaching

With a little practice, you can create your own micro coaching plan. Here’s a look at three ways we can help you build real momentum based on some of our methods. The goal is to achieve these tasks without getting overwhelmed:

With just 10 minutes, you can make meaningful progress toward building your music career. Here’s how to take small, actionable steps in key areas to get real results:

1. Brand Articulation – Clarify One Part of Your Artist Identity

Your brand is how fans connect with you on a deeper level. Use this quick exercise to clarify one piece of your unique identity.

10-Minute Task 1:
1. Write down one word or phrase that you want fans to feel when they listen to your music (e.g., “uplifted,” “connected,” or “inspired”).
2. Write a short, one-sentence bio based on that word or phrase that captures your essence as an artist. For example, “My music is all about helping people feel [emotion].”

10-Minute Task 2:
3. Update this one sentence across your social media bios or save it as a guide for future posts.

Result: You’ll have a clear, consistent statement about your music’s impact, which will make connecting with fans easier.

2. Email List Building – Set Up a Simple Incentive for Signups

Building an email list doesn’t have to be complex. Start with a simple incentive to invite fans to join your list.

10-Minute Task:
1. Think of one piece of content you can offer as an incentive (e.g., an exclusive song clip, a short video message, or a behind-the-scenes photo).
2. Create a simple call-to-action, like “Sign up for my email list to get [your incentive]!”
3. Post this on social media.

Result: You’ll have a straightforward way to encourage fans to join your list without extra effort.

3. Social Channel Tune-Up – Optimize One Profile in Small Steps

Your social media profile is often the first thing fans see. Use these quick tasks to make your profile more engaging and discoverable.

10-Minute Task:
1. Check your bio and make sure it includes one descriptive word about your music genre or style.
2. Add one hashtag or keyword that aligns with your music (e.g., #AtlantaMusician, #SoulfulPop) to help new fans find you.
3. Pin or highlight one recent post that best represents your brand so it’s the first thing people see when they visit your profile.

Result: Your profile will be cleaner, more focused, and more accessible for new fans to connect with right away. I wrote an ebook that will help you maximize each social.
